Encounter/ADT Status

Name Description
Data Domain: Encounter Details
Data Type: Text
Definition

The “Encounter/ADT Status” serves as a description of the current state of an encounter. For an encounter, there are two potential statuses that can be used to describe the current state of an encounter : “Encounter Status” and “ADT Patient Status”.

Because of the complexity of determining whether or not an encounter is completed or if the patient is still present, a pre-defined filter, “Completed Encounter Filter”, exists to assist in identifying only completed encounters. Using this filter will only count encounters that have either an “ADT Patient Status” of ‘Discharged’ or an “Encounter Status” of ‘Completed’.
