Encounter Specific Insurance

The ‘Encounter Specific Insurance’ covers all payors listed on a patient’s account and available for claims to be submitted to for patient care. For a given encounter there may be multiple payors associated with the patient’s account and are all available for querying. Additionally, the primary insurance payor for an encounter is specifically identifiable from other non-primary insurance payors through the use of the “Primary Payor” modifier.
