Term	Information
Legacy	Refers to data sourced from the WebCIS EHR, GE Centricity, and other pre-Epic UNC Health Care systems
Ethnicity	Collection began in 2010
Encounter Type	Note that Epic has much more granular detail on the type of encounter than did our legacy systems. Legacy visit types are only available in Clinical Encounter Types > Legacy Clinical Encounters. All other encounter types are exclusive to Epic.
Patient Class	The ‘Emergency’ class was not an available option in our legacy systems—rather, ED visits were all classified as Outpatient. If you narrow down to only the Emergency class in your query, you will automatically eliminate all pre-Epic visits.
