Overview | Medication Orders

The medication order domain contains a record of all medications ordered within the UNCHCS. The data encompasses all orders that occurred in both legacy and Epic data sets. Because there are significant differences in the quality and structure of the medication data between Epic and Legacy data, some specific considerations are outlined below.

The ontology provided for medications is a locally developed ontology utilizing resources provided by the NIH and the National Library of medicine. The ontology also provides access to a number of modifiers and additional information surrounding medication orders.
