Overview | Patient Vitals
Patient vitals provide information on some of the most common clinical and descriptive measurements associated with a patient. Vital measurements are performed at almost all clinical encounters with patients and may be recorded multiple times throughout a single patient encounter (i.e., a several-day inpatient stay).
In i2b2, the provided vital measurements are pulled from the Epic “Vital Signs” flowsheet, and are available for inpatient and outpatient. Legacy vitals are available only for outpatient visits. The available vital measurements include:
- Blood Pressure
- Body Mass Index (BMI)
- Body Surface Area (BSA)
- Height
- Pulse
- Respiratory Rate
- Temperature
- Weight
